The glow guide

PREP like a pro

  • For the most flawless result, schedule services such as hair, nails, waxing, facials, or massages at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. This ensures no oils, residues, or treatments interfere with your spray tan.

  • Exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment using an oil-free exfoliator and an exfoliating mitt to remove dry skin and create a smooth, even surface. Complete all shaving during this time so your skin is fresh and perfectly prepped.

  • Well-hydrated skin holds color beautifully. Drink plenty of water and apply a quality moisturizer regularly in the days leading up to your appointment to keep your skin soft and balanced. Avoid oil or silicone-based moisturizers or heavy body creams 24 hours before your appointment.

  • lotions, oils, makeup, deodorant, and fragrance to ensure even development.

Protect Your Glow

  • After your appointment, change into loose, dark clothing to allow your tan to develop undisturbed. Avoid tight garments such as leggings, bras, or closed-toe shoes.

  • While your tan develops, avoid sweating, water exposure, or skin-to-skin contact. Refrain from touching or scratching the skin until it’s time for your first rinse.

  • At your technician’s recommended rinse time, shower with cool to lukewarm water only. Do not leave the solution on longer than instructed. When drying off, gently pat the skin dry. Never rub! Be sure to moisturize your skin thoroughly after your first rinse.

  • Maintain your color and ensure an even fade by using spray tan-safe body washes and moisturizers that are sulfate-free, oil-free, and pH-balanced. Remember, a spray tan does not provide UV protection. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher when outdoors and choose oil-free, mineral-based formulas to protect your skin without compromising your glow.

  • Extend the life of your glow by applying a spray tan-safe lotion 2x daily to keep skin nourished. 48 hours after your tan, it is recommended to use a hydrating tan-extender to keep your color radiant.

  • Spray tans are temporary and fade naturally with the skin’s renewal cycle. To prolong your glow, limit excessive shaving, hot showers, baths, heavy sweating, and exposure to chlorine or saltwater. You can gently shave only after your tan has fully developed for 24 hours using a fresh razor, ideally without a moisture strip.

That said, every pregnancy is unique, so we always recommend checking with your doctor or healthcare provider before your appointment. If you’re breastfeeding, we’ll provide protective covers and ensure no solution comes in contact with the chest area.
